Establishment
The Vanakn Traditional Dance Group was founded years ago, but received its final formation and name in 2022. The group’s name is taken from the crystal of the same name from the Van region, which forms and purifies over centuries, just like traditional dance. The group’s logo is the hexagonal diagram of that crystal, paired with a triangle.
The group’s goal is to spread traditional culture not only within the rehearsal studio walls but also beyond them, so that culture, like language and faith, becomes one of the most important components of the nation’s survival.
In 2024, the group acquired complete traditional costume sets from the Artsakh-Syunik and Van-Vaspurakan regions using its own resources, with the aim of presenting the rich traditional culture more accurately and vividly.

The group consists of individuals with years of experience, including dancers with about 8-10 years of experience. Amateur three-month courses are regularly held at the location: Alek Manukyan 15A. You can join the group’s waiting list below.
